Cookie Policy

This policy explains how the Halverin website uses cookies and similar local storage mechanisms, what information is stored, and how visitors can manage their preferences.

Last Updated: 18 April 2025

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the website to remember certain information about your visit — such as whether you have acknowledged a notice — so that the site can function as intended and avoid presenting the same prompt on every page load.

This website also makes use of localStorage, a browser mechanism that works similarly to cookies but stores data locally on your device without it being sent to the server with each request. Where this policy refers to cookies, it covers both technologies unless stated otherwise.

2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage

The Halverin website is a small, informational site. We do not operate advertising networks, sell advertising space, or use tracking technologies to build profiles of our visitors for marketing purposes.

Our use of local storage is limited to a single functional purpose: recording whether a visitor has responded to the cookie consent notice on the homepage. This allows us to avoid displaying the notice again to visitors who have already acknowledged it.

We do not use cookies to track individual users across sessions, to link visits to identifiable personal data, or to share information about your visit with any commercial third party.

3. Cookies We Use

The table below describes the specific storage items currently in use on this website.

This table will be updated if additional cookies are introduced. The date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent review.

4. Third-Party Resources

The Halverin website loads certain resources from third-party servers. These are used to support the delivery of the website and are not used to build marketing profiles. The relevant third-party resources are:

  • Google Fonts

The website loads typefaces (Tenor Sans, Lora, and Inter) from Google Fonts servers. Google may set cookies or collect basic request data as part of this delivery. Google Fonts data usage is described in Google's own privacy documentation at fonts.google.com/about.

  • Google Maps

An embedded Google Maps panel appears on the homepage to assist visitors in locating our studio. Loading this panel causes a connection to Google's servers, which may set cookies. Google's cookie and privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

  • Font Awesome (Cloudflare CDN)

Interface icons are loaded from Cloudflare's content delivery network. This may involve a connection log at Cloudflare's infrastructure but does not involve cookies set on your device by Halverin.

Halverin does not control the cookies set by these third-party services. If you prefer to limit these connections, you may use browser extensions that block third-party resource loading, or adjust your browser's privacy settings.

5. Managing Your Preferences

When you first visit the Halverin homepage, a notice will appear asking whether you accept the limited use of local storage described in this policy. You may accept or decline.

  • If you accept — the consent record is stored in your browser's localStorage. The notice will not appear again on subsequent visits from the same browser.
  • If you decline — a declined preference record is stored so the notice is not repeatedly shown. No other data is stored.
  • To clear your preference — open your browser's developer tools or privacy settings, locate localStorage for this domain, and delete the halverin_cookie_consent entry. The consent notice will reappear on your next visit.

Most modern browsers provide controls to view, manage, and delete local storage and cookies. The settings section of your browser — typically under Privacy or Security — will contain these options. Browser-specific guidance is available from the developer documentation for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Declining the consent notice or clearing your preferences will not affect your ability to browse the Halverin website or to submit an enquiry. The website functions fully without the consent record being present.

6. Changes to This Policy

Halverin will update this cookie policy if changes are made to the cookies or local storage used on the website, or if the regulatory context requires a revision. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Where changes are material, a brief summary will be included at the top of the revised policy for a period of 60 days following the update.
