How Halverin Works

The Reading-First Methodology

1

Material Is Sent in Advance

Each session begins before the session. A chapter or worksheet is distributed to participants in advance, with guidance on how to read it and what to notice.

2

Discussion in a Small Group

Sessions are discussion-led. The facilitator guides conversation around the pre-read material rather than delivering new content. Questions from participants shape the session.

3

Continued Engagement Between Sessions

Participants are encouraged to notice the vocabulary in their household conversations between sessions. The inter-session period is part of the learning structure, not a gap in it.

All programmes are educational in scope. No advice, no product recommendations, and no regulated services are offered at any point.

Mid-Life Money Mapping Workshop

Programme 1 · Weekend Workshop

Mid-Life Money Mapping Reading Workshop

  • Access to a follow-up reflection circle
  • Cohort of 8–12 participants
  • Educational only; no advice offered

Family Conversation Frameworks Programme

Programme 2 · Six-Week Programme

Family Conversation Frameworks Reading Programme

A six-week reading programme on the language and frameworks of intergenerational household money conversations. Topics include partner conversations, conversations with adult children, with ageing parents, and sibling coordination discussions. A chapter is distributed ahead of each weekly session, and the cohort meets to discuss it together.

  • Clothbound reading binder
  • Conversation cards for household use
  • Peer discussion notebook
  • Cohort of 12 participants
  • Educational; no advice offered

Format

Six weekly sessions · Tuesday evenings · Shaw Tower

Retirement Vocabulary Reading Circle

Programme 3 · Three-Session Circle

Retirement Vocabulary Reading Circle

A three-session reading circle on the vocabulary used in retirement-stage household conversations in Singapore — CPF Life, SRS, drawdown structures, household income mapping in retirement, and the standard documentation used by qualified professionals. Sessions are discussion-led with pre-distributed reading material. The circle is educational and intended to support more confident household conversation, not to substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

  • Glossary of retirement vocabulary
  • Weekly worksheets for each session
  • Peer discussion notebook
  • Singapore-specific vocabulary and context
  • Educational; not a substitute for professional advice

Format

Three Saturday mornings · 9:00–11:30 · Shaw Tower

Across All Programmes

Standards Shared by Every Halverin Programme

Education, Not Advice

No Halverin programme constitutes financial advice. The distinction is stated clearly at the outset and maintained throughout every session.

Participant Data Privacy

Enrolment information is held under PDPA-compliant practices and used only for programme administration. It is not shared with any third party.

Written in Singapore Context

All reading material is written for Singapore readers. CPF, SRS, and local household documentation vocabulary are addressed directly and accurately.

Minimum Enrolment Policy

Programmes are only run when the minimum cohort threshold is met. Fewer participants would compromise the discussion model the programme depends on.

Physical Materials Only

All workbooks, binders, and reference materials are physical and produced to a standard that makes them worth keeping. There are no digital-only delivery options.

Discussion-Led Sessions

Sessions are structured around participant discussion of pre-read material. The facilitator guides rather than lectures. Questions from participants shape the direction of each session.
